That’s why I decided to create the products I myself have always wanted: science-based formulations, clinically effective dosages of all ingredients, no fillers or unnecessary junk, and natural sweetening and flavoring.
I am not sure if losing some more weight would be the right thing to do for lowering body fat ratio as I am already in the recommended BMI. Would you have any recommendations to make more progress? Would BLS make a difference? Or would it be a better approach to stop cutting and focus on building some muscle instead (and cutting later again)?
1. The Bicycle Exercise – best for targeting the six pack muscles and the obliques. To do this exercise, get into a supine position with hands at the back of your head. Bring knees to the chest while lifting shoulders off the floor. Slowly bring your right elbow towards your left knee as you straighten your right leg. Switch sides and continue in a pedaling motion. Do 1 to 3 sets with 12 to 16 repetitions.
Some people have a strange habit of chewing something or the other all day long. For meeting this craving of chewing, they often end up eating gums, which do no benefit to the body at all. An amazing swap is to try munching on dry fruits like almonds, which will actually be beneficial to your body and provide it with those necessary nutrients at the same time.
Hi Mike, after taking these supplements how long do you have wait to work out. I work out (after wake up in fasted state) at home so I wait about 30 minutes before I work out. In those 30 minutes I’m getting my weights ready. Now when I start working out I feel a little sluggish but as I get into my routine I feel more energy. I would like to have more energy right from the start because I start with dead lift or squats. Question 2, how long should this energy spike last? I try to get my work out done in about an hour and a half. Thanks.Tom
Hey Shelbi, happy to hear you’re enjoying the content so much! Having lunch around noon is ok, if you need it to tide you over during the afternoon. Otherwise, it sounds great! I recommend at least a 3-day weight training split, though.
“A study published in the International Journal of Obesity compared weight loss after an egg breakfast compared to a bagel breakfast containing similar calories,” explains Toby Amidor, R.D., author of The Greek Yogurt Kitchen. “Results founds that participants who consumed two eggs in their breakfast while following a lower-calorie diet lost 65 percent more weight and reduced their waist circumference by 34 percent compared with those who were on a similar calorie bagel breakfast.” Eggs are also a great source of protein, which works to keep hunger at bay and curb overeating.
Cook meals at home when possible, and use olive oil or cooking spray rather than butter. When eating out, opt for protein-rich foods over starchy foods like pasta. Ask for dressings and sauces on the side to cut down on extra calories.
The soft, pinchable fat at your belly is subcutaneous fat and is less of a health issue, but makes your clothes tight and your tummy look pudgy. Visceral fat is some of the first fat you lose when you embark on a weight-loss program, but subcutaneous fat is more stubborn and may take a little patience.
My question is about pre -post nutrition for hiit cardio. I have porridge, eggs and berries at 7am then 20g whey protein with spinach at 10am. How long after the whey protein should i wait before doing hit, and how long do i wait to eat a meal after the cardio? What should i eat after cardio? What is the best pre-post cardio nutrition and how long to wait before taking each meal?
Yes, but don’t be too hard on yourself, because you are young and still growing. Try to eat more veggies and fruits, and do some exercise, like swimming, playing sports, riding your bike or even a short sprint outside once a day or at least 3-4 times a week.
Sugary beverages appear to be even worse than high-sugar foods. Because your brain doesn’t process liquid calories the same way it does solid ones, you’re likely to end up consuming too many calories later on and storing them as fat (47, 48).
Depending on how often you walk, you can manage to easily lose one pound per week or more. Think about it, in less than five months you can be 20 pounds lighter without spending hours at the gym and without going on a diet. Just by making a few tweaks to your routine you can greatly increase the number of steps that you take daily.
Studies on lean and obese twins and their mothers have confirmed that there is a common “core” of shared flora among families that may influence weight gain, including where the weight is stored (41).
If you want to boost your protein intake to 25-30% of calories, as recommended above, just eating more protein rich foods won’t cut it. You need to actually measure and fine tune in order to reach that goal.
Stubborn tummy fat can be very hard to shift. Due to our often sedentary lifestyles and stressful jobs, medicated with alcohol and biscuits, belly fat can easily build up. And, it’s not just our ability to win the swimsuit competition that’s affected by the belly build up: fat deposits around the belly are linked to serious health issues, including type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease.
Is HIIT really good for people who want to preserve their muscle while losing fat? The linked studies showed better fat loss in overweight people but nothing about muscular test subjects. Also, the link that states that HIIT increases GH and that GH preserves muscles had very dubious conclusions.
