“how lose belly fat in 3 days |how can burn belly fat”

I’m 195 pounds, approx 20% body fat which I’d like to be between 14 and 17, waist 36 inch and hip 38 inches. I’m happy with my weight but I’d just like to reduce my waist size and body fat for health benefits my family have an history of type 2 diabetes so I’m just trying make some right steps.

If you want to lose fat as quickly as possible without sacrificing your health or sanity, lift weights 4 to 5 times per week for 45 to 60 minutes per session, and do 3 to 4 20 to 25-minute HIIT cardio workouts.

Questions: Should I have a casein protein shake right before bed? (It fits in my macros and proportions) (Should I be in a fed state within the first few hours of sleeping to maximize the time of being in a “fasted state”?)

1. The side plank exercise is the best way to reduce belly fat. There are only two points of contact with the floor which helps the core muscles to contract even harder. Lie on your side with your legs top of each other, rest on your lower forearm that is bent on the elbow. Force your upper body off the floor by using your forearm and place other hand on your hips. You should resemble a diagonal line from head to toe. After you lift your bodies just hold it for 30-60 seconds.

You are very knowledgeable in weight training and losing weight in a healthy way. I just happened to find my way to one of your articles and I am impressed at how well you back your articles with research and personal story.

Slouching is the main reason for fat accumulation in the body. Learn to sit straight right from your childhood. Sitting with a curved back or spine may result in fat accumulation around your stomach area.

Great read and I’m looking to give this a go. I’ve been putting on muscle over last couple years and been complimented on it but that little roll of belly fat refuses to disappear so hope this new routine does the trick!

Glad you enjoyed the article! You don’t have to fast every day, but consistently fasting might help you keep your appetite under control. As long as you keep your deficit 20-25% each day (fasting or eating throughout the day), you’ll lose the fat!

Hi Mike I weigh 84 kgs and total body fat percentage is 24%, are these workouts are good enough to bring my total body fat percentage to 8? Or do I need to do more.. I am going in the morning to gym, and having hydroxycut of 2 pills before workout along with green tea.. post workout I have whey protein and white eggs 3.Please suggest me..

Thanks, Mike. I have a question. I wake up very, very early every day (California-based stockbroker working NYC hours) – and exercising in the morning is impossible for me M-F. Could you recommend anything for someone in my shoes?

2. Should I be taking forge and phoenix for the second work out? It’s around four hours from the morning meal after HIIT, the article indicated Insulin levels stay elevated between 3-6 hours. For my 8 AM meal I do 1 egg, 5 egg whites, 2 slices of ezekial bread, and 40 grams whey protein. My heavier carb meal is right after weight training. Thanks again for all the great articles.

In Myth # 25, you suggest consuming a protein shake and even 25 g of carbs prior to working out in the early morning. In this article you suggest countering muscle breakdown with 10g BCAAs. In your opinion, what is the best method?

Yes, but don’t be too hard on yourself, because you are young and still growing. Try to eat more veggies and fruits, and do some exercise, like swimming, playing sports, riding your bike or even a short sprint outside once a day or at least 3-4 times a week.

In fact, a study conducted by The University of Western Ontario showed that doing just 4 to 6 30-second sprints burns more fat over time than 60 minutes of incline treadmill walking (one of the staples of “bodybuilding cardio”).

“how many pounds to lose belly fat -why can’t i lose my belly fat”

Hey Jeff, thanks for sharing your opinion. My first goal is to educate people, which is why I spend most of my time writing content like this article. That said, I do believe in the supplements we sell and want people who could benefit to know about them.

Fish oil is the best source of fat to lose your belly fat. Fish oil naturally increases testosterone levels and increases fat loss. 6g omega-3 per day is a good start. Check Carlson Fish Oil: 1600mg omega-3 per tbsp.

Don’t be surprised. Although it is a fat, coconut oil can actually help lose your belly fat! I’ll tell you how. This oil extracted from coconut has a unique combination of fatty acids. It has a positive effect on your metabolism too. Coconut oil is high on medium chain triglycerides. The medium chain fatty acids are metabolized differently from long chain fatty acids. These fatty acids directly go to the liver from your digestive tract, where they are used in one of the two ways- either as energy or are converted into ketone bodies. Ketone bodies are three water-soluble biochemical compounds that are produced by the liver using fatty acids when you fast or reduce your food intake. These are used by body cells as energy instead of glucose. So when you want to follow low carb diet to lose fat, coconut oil can help you a lot.

Follow these effective and simple exercises to reduce belly fat. You can easily do most of these exercises at home without the help of any personal trainer. All you need is determination and a lot of stamina. Reducing tummy fat is no longer an elusive dream!

Moderate exercisers who stocked up on the antioxidants found in green tea—called catechins—were more likely to lose abdominal fat while exercising than those who didn’t take them. One study put the daily dose at 625 mg—the equivalent of two or three eight-ounce cups of green tea. (Follow these steps to make the perfect cup of tea.)

The visceral fat is more quickly stored and more easily burned. This is because being deeper in the body it has a greater blood supply and is more sensitive to the fat burning catecholamines than is subcutaneous fat.

Carb cycling isn’t something I have tried properly. My opinion would be its only something you need to try once you get weight/bf down and things stop moving. Its also not something you can use instead of a calorie deficit to lose weight… You still need a calorie deficit to lose weight even if carb cycling?

Carrying extra weight around your belly is not only a concern cosmetically, it also increases the risk of many chronic diseases. This includes heart disease, diabetes and some forms of cancer. Excess weight that is carried in the midsection can place a strain on your back muscles and contribute to chronic back pain. There are diet and exercise tips that can help in the battle to lose belly fat. However, the first step is to consult with a physician before starting any new exercise or diet plan.

The abs are important stabilizer muscles that keep your form in check. If you do abs first, you will tire them out, and your whole workout will be less than optimal. Work down from the largest to the smallest muscles.

Hey Michelle, that’s possible (although there are a few hormones at play, not just cortisol). But if that’s the case, it’s really a bit of a waiting game. It can seem like nothing is happening, and then one day you’re 3 pounds lighter. Eventually your weight will even out, but in the interim, it’s still generally a good idea to drop your calories and/or increase your activity levels.

A serving of healthy unsaturated fat, such as 3 ounces of fatty fish, an ounce of walnuts or a tablespoon of olive oil provides critical nutrients essential to heart and bone health. A study published in a 2014 issue of Diabetes discovered that overeating saturated fats caused more visceral fat development that eating too much unsaturated fat.

Furthermore, when you are reducing calories the body’s first instinct is to hold onto that belly fat with a vengeance, just in case you are starving and don’t know where the next meal is coming from. After all, your body doesn’t know the difference between a diet and starvation. Therefore, between your 3 main meals have a healthy snack to maintain steady energy levels and avoid junk food binges help you lose belly fat. Eat 3 meals and 2 snacks consisting of all three food groups (carbs, fat and protein) every 3 hours. (Click here for more tips on how to reduce calories.)

Drink green tea. Some studies suggest that drinking green tea (including decaffeinated green tea) or taking green tea extracts can increase the body’s rate of fat oxidation and may decrease overall body fat. The studies used green tea extract, administered by capsule, but dieters may also get some of the same benefits from drinking green tea.

hey mike, i have been training since 95′ and am in pretty good shape. weight train 5-6 days and cardio 2-5 days a week. my diet is good and 90% clean. i seem to be in a rut. i have never counted calories and this is probably my downfall.

Losing weight or belly fat takes at least twice as long as it took to put it on. If you’ve had excess fat around your middle for a year, you should give your body at least that long to get rid of it. Reduce your calories, eat more vegetables, eliminate or strictly limit simple carbohydrates, quit alcohol and all greasy foods. Walk for 60 minutes a day and weight train twice a week for 20 minutes each session.

Scientists have discovered that the number of fat cells you will develop depends entirely on your genes. If your parents or grandparents had excess belly fat, you too might have the same. Yes, it is true that genetics is a determinant of how the fat is distributed.

a. This is similar to what we call the cat stretch pose. This is also known as the four-point, transverse-abdominal stomach vacuum. Follow the steps mentioned below to do this exercise for reducing belly fat:

Your parents weren’t kidding about how important veggies are for a healthy body. What they probably didn’t tell you, however, was that snacking on veggies is also one of the easiest ways to shed unwanted belly fat, too. According to a study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, opting for non-starchy veggies, like cauliflower, broccoli, and cucumber, as snacks helped overweight kids shed 17 percent of their visceral fat while improving their insulin sensitivity over a five-year period. Think snacking on veggies will leave you hungry? The 20 Most Filling Fruits and Veggies will have your belly satisfied in no time.

How should I train when I cut? I mean weight lifting. I am super weak whenever I cut, and can barely lift any weights, especially if I train fasted. My HIIT is suffering from it too… I eat lots of greens, healthy fats, try to hit 1 gram per weight protein. Am I doing something wrong?

Switch out refined grains for whole grains. In a scientific study, people who ate all whole grains (in addition to five servings of fruits and vegetables, three servings of low-fat dairy, and two servings of lean meat, fish, or poultry) lost more belly fat than another group that ate the same diet, but with all refined grains.[6]

So even though this is my 8th week of “cutting” you suggest i still stay in a deficit longer? even though i haven’t been perfect with my targets I’ve still been in a deficit so i don’t know how much longer i should keep going before damaging my metabolism.

As said before, measuring your waist with the tape is the easiest way to check belly fat. Measure your torso at the level of your navel. As per the official guidelines, measure your abdomen from just above the hip bone or the iliac crest, just where it intersects the line dropping down from the middle of the right armpit. Breathe normally while taking the measurement, and don’t hold the measuring tape too tight against the skin. Those with a waist size more than 33 inches are at risk of developing chronic heart disease.

Glad you enjoyed the article! You don’t have to fast every day, but consistently fasting might help you keep your appetite under control. As long as you keep your deficit 20-25% each day (fasting or eating throughout the day), you’ll lose the fat!

Just do squats for half an hour. No matter how much you do on the first day, slowly push your limits. Cardio exercises like swimming and cycling will help a lot. Don’t overdo it on the first day, increase it day by day.

Not to be too nit-picky, but there are no Beta-2 receptors located on adipocytes, they are actually Beta-3 receptors. Beta-2 R’s are located mostly in vascular and bronchiole smooth muscle, and when they are stimulated, they cause smooth muscle relaxation meaning vasodilation and bronchodilation. Once Beta-3 R’s are stimulated, they increase lipolysis as well as permit the release of adiponectin, which in turn is an essential endocrine hormone and promotes fatty acid oxidation, improves insulin sensitivity, as well as many other good benefits. Adipose tissue plays a key role in endocrine function by releasing adiponectin, and these levels are shown to be higher in leaner individuals. Not only does it increase insulin sensitivity, it has also been shown to decrease instances of atherosclerosis which causes CAD, PAD, etc… Just trying to help you out by enlightening you with correct information, one professional to another. Feel free to email me if you’d like.

“You need to do a combination of weights and cardiovascular training,” said Dr. Sangeeta Kashyap, an endocrinologist at Cleveland Clinic. Strength training increases muscle mass, which sets your body up to burn more fat.

Eat breakfast. It might seem counterproductive to eat if you’re trying to lose weight, but studies show that eating breakfast within an hour of waking up keeps your insulin levels steadier and your LDL cholesterol levels lower.[2]Building a healthy breakfast:

Contrary to popular belief, ab exercises do not target the fat around your mid-section. Neither do they get rid of stomach fat. Doing ab exercises will define stomach muscles but you must first get rid of the fat that is hiding them. Otherwise, you will look even worse.

“lose belly fat at gym -what exercises lose lower belly fat”

I have started my cutting routine 2 months back , i was 71 kg before that and now am 69kg. But i dont notice a decent amount of reduction in my belly fat. Also , i dont feel any kind of weakness that is usually attributed to calorie deficit diets. I feel ive lost a little bit of muscle ( or is it fat am not too sure ). I believe am following all the correct concepts of cutting – fasting , taking bcaa before workout , good postworkout meal , lighter lunch , other meals and even lighter dinner. But still , somehow my body responds really slow to anything. I had a hard time gaining 4 kgs and the same goes for losing. I am pretty ripped around my arms , legs , shoulders and upper back but have fat around my lower stomach and back area. I am, by no means , obese. But i feel that something is missing. Or is it just too soon to decide , should I continue working out the way i feel is right and wait for the results to show ? Please guide me mike.

I just noticed there is a new product from your line – Legion Forge – and I’m considering to add this. Please let me know if the below would give me the same (if not better) fat-loss / maintain muscle growth results:

Don’t waste your time focusing on core-specific moves. Instead, do full-body moves like thrusters, which require you to use both your lower and upper body. These types of exercises save time by working multiple body parts while simultaneously engaging your core.

I followed TLS and went from 27% to 23% body fat (weight training 4x a week and cardio 2-3x a week) in 6 weeks. However, I have been stuck at 22-23% for 6 weeks. I am only 5’3″ and am down to 115 and further dropping my caloric intake feels like I am not getting enough energy for training. I have read that I need to stop cutting and focus on adding more muscle first – so reverse diet up to TDEE. I know your advice for women is to cut down to 20% before starting to bulk. Do you think since I’ve been stuck for 6 weeks, I should start to reverse diet to TDEE and see what happens? Thanks for sharing your knowledge!

Yet studies over the past three or so decades consistently show how those with BMIs closer to but not exceeding 30 live longer than those at 24 and lower. The lower the BMI, the earlier comes the grim one.

I’m a very active person who loves to workout. But i had a problem i would eat junk in the middle of the night and i couldnt help it. This has elimanated those nightime cravings. In which I bought it for. With the nigjtime eating being eliminated my diet is a lot better and my results are a lot better. So supressing appetite for me personally it works. But i dont think its burning fat, and i think thats why some people get discourage with this product. And i can understand why because in the description it says it burns fat while you sleep.

However, keep in mind that I’m not talking about abdominal exercises here. Spot reduction (losing fat in one spot) is not possible, and doing endless amounts of crunches will not make you lose fat from the belly.

I am trying to lose fat and train in a “fasted” state. My workouts usually occur from anytime between 4-6. Lately, I have been eating my last meal before working out around noon, and have noticed that my workouts have been low-intensity due to being in the “fasted” state. I take a pre-workout supp and BCAA’s to prevent muscle loss, but I am still fatigued during my workout. What would you recommend I do to get back to my old workout intensity while still being in the “fasted” state? What kind of meal and what time should I have?

Thanks so much! Implementing the few things i have at the right time and dose is just genius! I knew it was important! Anyway, do you have advice for late night weight lifting besides obviously in a fasting state? Also, what about Jacuzzis? Ty!

Hi Karen, the small snack at 4pm would not allow you to be in a fasted state at 6pm. If you were to have it at around 2-3pm, that would better for fasted training before dinner. Great job sticking to the diet plan and getting your exercise in! Happy to hear you’re getting results. Stubborn fat in the lower ab area can take some time and work. Here’s more info to help you keep progress moving:

I have been running and weight lifting on and off for about a year and a half. I have been going up and down weight wise. For the last three months I have forced myself to stay on a regular workout plan and I have started to see an increase in my muscle mass, which I want to keep. I have slowly increased my workout from 3 days a week to 4-5 days a week depending on work. I have a high stress job with long hours. My goal is lose weight, build muscle, and eat healthier. I haven’t incorporated supplements and I want to know what supplements are a must (pre and/or post workout). I would also like to get some simple accessible information on how to go about eating more healthy especially for busy people. Great article! You present the information in such a great way. You are one of the best authors regarding the subject. Thanks!

Love your articles, website, and diet info, its really helping. I just need that little extra to get down to 10%, Going to get hydrostatically weighed this week to really narrow it down and see where I’m at. Believe I’m right around 16% or so…

Liquid sugar is even worse in this regard. Liquid calories don’t get “registered” by the brain in the same way as solid calories, so when you drink sugar-sweetened beverages, you end up eating more total calories (9, 10).

I work nights!!!! I get off work go home drink a protein shake and/ or eat some oatmeal ,in addition I take supplements and go lift . When I come home I drink protein shake along with some low fat cottage cheese and tuna with avocado then I go to bed. is this ok??? I feel I have more energy working out when I get off of work then I do when I wake later in the afternoon. Also I am a mom of two so my schedule works better this way as well.Should I be eating through the night while at work?? I lift 3-4 times a week and do cardio the other days off day sunday.

Well after 4 weeks I only lost 2 lbs. but my quads along with my glutes were a lot bigger than how they look now. And all of my pants fit me very lose and not just around my waist. I did not get weaker on my lifts tho, in fact I feel stronger than ever! So, do you think my legs getting a lot thinner is related to fat loss and not muscle?

Many compounds are known to reduce hunger and others are known to increase the sensation of fullness you get from a meal. When a combination of proven molecules is used effectively, you can successfully reduce hunger and cravings and derive the maximum benefits from your diet.

Contrary to popular belief, ab exercises do not target the fat around your mid-section. Neither do they get rid of stomach fat. Doing ab exercises will define stomach muscles but you must first get rid of the fat that is hiding them. Otherwise, you will look even worse.

I’m female, 5’4″, 133 lbs and have been doing Jamie Eason’s Live Fit program for the last 9 weeks. Although I’m stronger and have obvious muscle growth, I’m not losing thigh size (huge thighs, lean and muscular up top). I’ve switched to Visual Impact for Women which touts it will lean out my thighs. I’m doing 5 reps and 4-5 sets upper body, various muscles 4 times a week, and just body weight step ups a lunges once a week. I do 15 minutes treadmill HIIT followed by 15 minutes low intensity cardio on treadmill, on all 4 upper body days. I work out at night. Do you know if I can mimic the fasting state workout if I just eat a protein shake and banana for dinner at 5:30, then workout at 8:30? Or is that too close time wise to be considered fasting? Also, do you think this program will maintain my muscles, or will I lose some muscle on the new program? So confused….

So what’s the deal with that bulge? Eat to lose that muffin top with these superfoods! Belly fat is a major concern for many. Here we are introducing a few best foods to fight that pesky trouble spot. 10 Super-foods that Burn Belly Fat!

Hey Jeff, congrats on the progress so far! Bodyweight exercises are great. Sure, you wont make your best gains possible, but you will still make progress. Remember that progression is key, so you need to increase resistance over time, as you mentioned. I think this article will help you out: https://legionathletics.com/bodyweight-exercises/

Mike, I’m new and this is my first cutting session before I start bulking for the first time. I’m still at around 13-14% body fat. Should the contents of this article be something I should be considering yet? Or is this information mainly for men at 10% or below who are trying to lose that last bit of fat? From what I’ve read in your book, I should be at my goal size before considering dropping below 10% fat – which could be quite a while.

Thanks to the hormone estrogen, the female body likes to hold on to fat, too. A study in Obesity Reviews shows that women store fat more efficiently than men in an effort to prepare the body for pregnancy. But while it seems like women may have drawn the short-end of the stick, the stereotypical pear-shape is actually considered healthier than boasting a beer gut, because belly fat is a red flag when it comes to your health. “Visceral fat is associated with increased risk of diabetes, high blood pressure and metabolic syndrome,” says Harris-Pincus.

“lose belly fat retain muscle tea that lose belly fat”

Matcha Green Tea: When it comes to boosting your metabolism and helping with weight loss, science shows that few things are more beneficial than matcha green tea. In one study, drinking the tea for 12 weeks reduced body fat. (12)

You know cardio is critical to tummy toning, but weightlifting is just as clutch since it helps up your body’s lean muscle mass. The more muscle you have, the more efficiently your body processes calories and burns body fat. So not only will you get a sculpted middle, you’ll also make it so you can eat more without packing on any extra poundage.

Ah, the age old question of “how to lose belly fat without exercise?”.   With so many diets out there about losing belly fat it’s easy to get confused.  I, like many people, have tried various diets and found that some temporarily worked and some just weren’t for me.

Grains get a bad rap when it comes to weight loss, but that’s because refined grains (read: processed foods!) are linked to wider waists. 100% whole-grains are bloat-busting superstars; however, as they’re packed with minerals and de-puff by counter-balancing salt. Stick to brown rice, quinoa, wheat,  barley, millet, farro, sorghum and amaranth for the biggest benefits.

Sugar, refined grains and saturated and trans fats contribute to belly fat development. A study published in a 2012 issue of the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics showed postmenopausal women who changed their eating behavior to eat fewer desserts, sugar-sweetened beverages and fried foods, and who ate out at restaurants less often, experienced the most weight loss. The AARP recommends cutting out the “five C’s” — candy, cookies, cake, cola and chips — as an easy way to curb your intake of many of these foods.

Don’t expect even weight loss. You are going to lose more inches on your belly in the first 2 weeks than subsequent weeks if you stay dedicated to a weight loss routine. If you are at least 15 lbs. (6.8 kg) over your ideal weight, you should see significant results in the first 2 weeks and belly reduction may be harder afterward. [3]

You’ll also need to weight-train to mitigate the natural loss of muscle mass as you age. A study published in a Brazilian medical journal in 2014 confirmed that post-menopausal women in their 50s who did cardio exercise, weight training and flexibility movements experienced less visceral fat gain and muscle loss than women who did not.

Wondering what C.R.A.P. is? Well, it is a group of food that does no good to your body. C for caffeine, R for refined sugar, A for alcohol and P for processed food. If you remove these four food groups from your life, you can live your dream of a flat belly. One of the biggest enemies of a flat stomach, these groups cling to your bodies and make it difficult for you to lose fat.

The general serving size is 4 capsules. However, if you read the label, you’ll see I recommend 1 capsule per every 50 lbs of body weight to start and then to work your way to 1 capsule per every 25 lbs of body weight. So, for you, you’d start with 3 capsules and work your way to 6 capsules before fasted weightlifting and another 6 before fasted cardio. For me however, since I’m almost 200 lbs, I need 8 capsules before each fasted training session and that’s 2 servings of 4 capsules.

It’s a very effective technique that can help you reprogram your body’s reactions to the unavoidable stressors of everyday life. Getting enough sleep will also help reduce your cortisol levels, and can have a significant bearing on metabolic disorders such as obesity, hypertension, and type 2 diabetes, allowing such problems to improve. As noted in the featured article:

Boost your overall health and shed excess belly fat by adding exercise to your weekly routine. Any exercise you do — whether that’s a structured workout at the gym or an informal brisk walk around your neighborhood — utilizes calories, so you’ll burn more body fat.

Hi everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me. I’m a 15 year old 5’3 petite female. And last time I weighed myself I was about 131 pounds. I do cardio 4-5 times a week for 40-60 minutes and I also like to walk around my neighborhood. I’m a vegan so I don’t eat any dairy, meat etc.

The fix lies in replacing the sugar and starch with fiber and raising the protein while normalizing the fat. The foods with the highest ratio of fiber relative to starch are vegetables (can you say 9 or more servings a day?). By the way, if you think beans, corn, and potatoes are vegetables, that is part of the problem. They are starches, especially when you are after a six pack. The foods high in protein are eggs, and all lean cuts of meat. Cheese & yogurts, while high in protein, can add to the fat and sugar burden so a six pack diet uses dairy foods in small amounts only.

Controlling stress is also an important part of dieting and rebooting your body. Taming your stress results in reduced levels of cortisol, which has been linked to belly fat. Prevent your nerves from fraying with these tips and your body and your belly will thank you for it.

Use it to lose belly fat: Avoid adding salt to your meals. Instead, boost flavor with spices and herbs, many of which have added health benefits as well. Try cooking with delicious flavors like cinnamon, chili powder, cayenne powder, cumin, ginger, basil, parsley, and rosemary—we promise you won’t miss the belly-bloating salt. (Try these other tips for reducing your salt intake.)

It’s normal to feel a few hunger pangs when you cut your calorie intake, but you don’t want to feel ravenous. Filling your diet with low energy-density foods — ones that have a low calorie count per gram — allows you to fill up on larger portions while controlling your calorie intake. Many of these foods also supply water and fiber, which can make you feel full, to help with weight loss.

When you eat food, it gets broken down into various molecules that your cells can use, and these molecules are released into your blood. Insulin is released as well, and its job is to shuttle these nutrients into cells for absorption and processing.

That’s a lot of supplement to take in. I am financially limited, will BCAAs be enough for a fasted training? That’s the only one supplement I can find within my vicinity, caffeine and GTE, I get from my coffee/tea (whichever I have atm).

Mike, great article! I am a female on a hunt to drop my body fat to 18-20%, I am currently at 24%. I know as you say genetics play a huge part in it all. I want to be leaner but still have a little bit of meat on my bones. I currently weight lift (and no pumping for me, I love lifting heavy and I’m constantly pushing myself to lift heavier) 4 times a week with cardio 2-3 times a week. I currently take BCAA before 15-20 minutes before I workout and I also take a multi and CLA. I also take protein after I workout. I think I will add in the fasted cardio in the AM and continue to lift during my lunch break. So how many days of fasted cardio would you suggest for me? And should I add an extra day of weights? My current regimen is Mon and Thur: Legs and shoulders, Tue: Tris and Chest and Wed: Back and biceps. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks, Felicia

Routinely squeaking by on five hours or less per night increases visceral fat levels, according to a 2010 Wake Forest University study. As you likely already know, 8 hours is the number to aim for and is ideal for losing belly fat. These 20 ways to sleep better every night can help.

Ketone bodies are three water-soluble biochemical compounds that are produced by the liver using fatty acids when you fast or reduce your food intake. These are used by body cells as energy instead of glucose. So when you want to follow low carb diet to lose fat, coconut oil can help you a lot.

HMB is often sold as a muscle-building aid but the research purported to demonstrate these benefits is shaky at best, hindered most by design flaws. Thus, I’m not comfortable making any claims about muscle growth.

However, keep in mind that I’m not talking about abdominal exercises here. Spot reduction (losing fat in one spot) is not possible, and doing endless amounts of crunches will not make you lose fat from the belly.

If you want to lose belly fat fast and get a flat tummy, but ab crunches are very hard for you or make you feel hurt on your back (back pain). This video will show you about “how to lose belly fat in a week” without doing ab crunches (Standing ab workout to lose belly fat fast for women).

The Flat Belly Diet is a weight-loss diet from the editors of Prevention magazine. The diet promises quick weight loss — especially around the middle — in about a month. The creators of the diet say you don’t have to exercise to achieve a flat belly but that exercise can boost your results.

Follow the exercises to lose belly fat highlighted above and get your body back in shape. The good thing is these exercises can help you lose stomach fat at home. You don’t have to go to the gym or employ a personal trainer! Just ensure you repeat them on a daily basis till you start to see desired results.

You’ve likely heard that moving more is beneficial for general wellness, but did you know that adding a structured walking program to your fitness routine can help you scorch serious belly fat? It’s true! In a International Journal of Obesity study of 113 subjects at a high risk for type 2 diabetes, researchers found that three weekly hour-long walks significantly lowered participants cholesterol levels and accumulation of belly fat, compared to the control group. Lace up your sneakers can hit the streets with Fido or go to the gym and break a sweat while you’re catching up on “Shark Tank.” Super easy yet extremely effective.

2) Based on your routine, 6 NOW GTE pills are to be taken per day and that equivalents to 2400mg of GTE (about 960mg Catechins per day). My question is, am I able to use another brand (in my case ‘AOR Classic Series – High Dose Green Tea Extract which gives me 700mg GTE / 455mg Catechins per capsule) and only take 2 capsules a day? I would be taking 1 in the morning before workout / during fasted state and another when I enter fasted state again around late afternoon/evening time. Also, if I decide to take 3 capsules, would that do any extra harm or it’s not needed? If there are benefits with 3 capsules, how do you suggest I fit the 3rd capsule into my routine?

I read the the yohimbine, which is in Forge, constricts blood vessels. I take Forge, 6 pills (I weigh about 153 pounds empty) before workout with Pulse, which has citurlline malate and ornithine which are designed to release arginine to dilate blood vessels. Does the yohimbine, which is in a small enough dose to prevent the blood pressure spike of larger doses, counteract the effect of the arginine and NO2 of Pulse?

Get enough calcium. Adults typically need around 1,000 milligrams of calcium every day to help maintain muscle and nerve function, and it’s necessary for healthy bones and teeth.[22] But calcium may also help prevent the body from storing visceral fat in the abdomen. Though studies have not shown a drastic change in weight due to increased calcium intake, researchers suggest that it may have a small effect in some people. Calcium requires vitamin D to be absorbed into the body; therefore, be sure to get enough vitamin D as well.[23] Sources of calcium include:[24]

Glad you enjoyed the article! You don’t have to fast every day, but consistently fasting might help you keep your appetite under control. As long as you keep your deficit 20-25% each day (fasting or eating throughout the day), you’ll lose the fat!

There is a reason our grandparents did not have a problem with obesity.  It is because they ate real food and they didn’t consume sugar in the amounts we do in modern times.  Since I couldn’t eat processed food, which is loaded with sugar, I only ate food on the keto food list and went back to home cooking.

“how to lose belly fat uk -what helps lose belly fat”

I have been using this product for about 3 weeks now. I will say that I have noticed a difference in my weight, about 4 pounds. An exciting side effect is that I generally have trouble sleeping and take a prescription sleep aid. I have not had to since I started this!! For me that’s a twofer!!

I also recommend incorporating Buteyko breathing into your workout, which involves breathing through your nose while doing your workout. This raises the challenge to another level, but it will also help you pace yourself as you may need to slow down in order to keep breathing through your nose.

***WARNING: Due to recent reports from viewers who have experienced accelerated fat loss please consult your physician if you experience more than 1-2 pounds per day of belly fat loss or more than 12 pounds per week. This 2-minute ritual should only be used as noted in the above video.

If you feel like you’re making smart moves to lose weight but still aren’t seeing the scale prove you right, it may be because your diet contains sneaky foods that lead to bloating, water-retention (ahem, salt!) and a higher calorie intake. These quick swaps will keep you fuller longer, all while working their nutrient-powered magic.

Hi Mike. I love to see that you write us back. 🙂 I’m really ready to lose this fat on my body. I can’t take it any mOre and I’m ready. I’ll let you know how I do with what you put in this article and once I can afford to in a couple weeks I’ll buy your book. Thank you

Honestly, you are still pretty young so I wouldn’t recommend restricting calories and dieting down. You are still growing and this is a great time to build some muscle. I would try to keep an eye on the foods you are eating and try to avoid overly processed options. As you gain some more muscle you will notice a difference in the way you look. Keep up the work in the gym. 🙂

Solution? Fasting. You can do a full on fast, or you can just eat two meals a day with no snacking between. The important thing is to keep your calorie intake as normal as you can. I am now below my desired weight for height and body frame and the weight loss is identical to the first day of my diet. This is because when you fast, either between meals or for days ( which is totally healthy people been doing it thousands of years ) your metabolism does not slow down.

I do have a question though. You might have said this and I simply missed it, but would you recommend some type of post work-out protein isolate after working out? I know your consuming protein afterwards, but that’s a slower metabolized type of protein that won’t help with the recovery of your muscles as fast as an Isolate would. What’s your take on that?

This is the basic problem with belly fat, and all other forms of “stubborn fat“–the ratio between beta- and alpha-receptors is heavily weighted toward alpha, which means that catecholamines can’t trigger lipolysis as easily.

Routinely squeaking by on five hours or less per night increases visceral fat levels, according to a 2010 Wake Forest University study. As you likely already know, eight hours is ideal. These 20 ways to sleep better every night can help.

Q:What should you do? Forget about your weight and keep on going in deficit caloric because what it really matters is to lose that extra BF, being maybe the fat lost replaced with muscle tissue and staying in 71kg? Because if being in caloric maintenance to stay in 71kg, no BF is lost like you wrote “No calorie deficit no losing fat, period”, isn’t it?

How many calories you will burn when you’re working out on a cardio machine depends on a few factors, not including the type of machine you’re on. Your body weight and workout intensity will also influence calories burned. According to Health Status, cycling or spinning on a stationary bike at a vigorous intensity and cycling an elliptical machine are the best for burning the most calories. A 200-pound person will burn about 1,032 calories in a 60-minute spinning or elliptical workout. Using a treadmill for running can also be efficient. That same 200-pound person will burn about 912 calories if he runs at 6 mph for 60 minutes.

Walk yourself forward with your hands to the end of your runway (aim for at least 10 yards). Rest for 60 to 90 seconds (or as long as you need to recover) and repeat the alligator walk back to where you started. That’s one set. Repeat one more time.

To get a flatter, more defined stomach, you need to concentrate on core exercises that tone and strengthen the abdominal muscles. However, you should not keep your hopes tagged with only these exercises. In order to see an overall effect, as in a flattened stomach and a strong, toned, and healthy body, you need to perform other fat-burning exercises as well. This way, you will teach your muscles to be able to lose the excess fat. The following stomach toning exercises are effective, simple, and don’t require any equipment.

For starters, most people tend to focus on traditional cardio workouts when trying to lose weight, but running on a treadmill is typically not going to have any major impact on your waist size. Part of the problem is that cardio is among the least effective forms of exercise when it comes to weight loss.

A better and more effective way to lose belly fat? Weight training. Lifting weights creates micro-tears in muscle that take more energy (i.e. burn more calories) in the healing process, which can last up to two days after your training session. (See all the incredible health benefits of lifting weights.) In particular, research has found the most effective workout for fat loss is high-intensity interval training, or HIIT, which raises your heart rate while also taxing your muscles. In fact, one study from the United Kingdom found that sprint training helped study participants lose inches from their waist and hips after just two weeks on the program, while a University of Arkansas study found that people who exercised with high intensity experienced a 20 percent decrease in abdominal fat. (Fat loss isn’t the only health benefit of HIIT.)

Please forgive my ignorance. I’m not sure I understand the fasted state workouts, even tho I’m doing them. If you wake up, eat, and then do your HIIT, besides oxygen and blood being diverted to the stomach for digestion, I don’t see how your body can use the food/calories that are in there, as they haven’t even been digested yet? I mean digestion takes how long? Aren’t you pretty much running on what you ate the day before? Would the body be able to use whats in your stomach if it was just consumed? I mean the fact that egg protein is absorbed at 1.3 g an hour tells me most of my egg protein wont even be a factor if I ate it prior to a fasted workout. What am I missing here?

Regardless of intensity, how often and how much you exercise is important. One study found postmenopausal women lost more fat from all areas when they did aerobic exercise for 300 minutes per week versus 150 minutes per week (30).

Kale is the Jennifer Lawrence of superfoods, acclaimed and enjoyed by millions. Trouble is, it risks becoming the Jennifer Lawrence of superfoods, at risk of numbing overexposure. If you find the prospect of another kale salad as exciting as a plain chicken breast, opt for dinosaur kale, a.k.a. black or lacinato kale. Its dark, curly leaves are sweeter-tasting and more tender than the regular variety, but it has the same nutritional properties, like satiety-boosting fiber and other nutrients that can turn off your belly-fat genes and lead to quick weight loss.

To lose belly fat, reduce your calorie intake by at least 500 calories below maintenance, but don’t go below 1200 calories if you are a woman or 1800 if you are a man. Cutting back calories excessively will stop you from losing belly fat, or will cause you to gain the weight back once you have stopped your diet (see crash diet.)

That’s a lot of supplement to take in. I am financially limited, will BCAAs be enough for a fasted training? That’s the only one supplement I can find within my vicinity, caffeine and GTE, I get from my coffee/tea (whichever I have atm).

In addition to the guidelines I mentioned above, Authority Nutrition lists3 several more effective strategies that can help you shed unwanted abdominal fat. Here are five of the recommendations that I highly agree with.

Also, cut out alcohol, as the calories in alcohol are high. If you drink alcohol regularly or drink on the weekends, try to tally up how many calories it amounts to per week. Very likely it will be undermining your goal to lose belly fat. Furthermore, alcohol, smoking and caffeine (found in not just coffee bur also soft drinks) increase the stress hormone cortisol, which stimulates the deposition of belly fat.

Coconut oil is also a thermogenic and burns fat. Many studies have shown that medium chain fatty acids when compared to the similar amount of calories from other fats, can improve feeling of fullness. Thus you automatically reduce calorie intake.

If you want to lose belly fat fast, you also need to avoid certain food groups and specific foods as well. It is also important to learn how to cook delicious meals that can specifically help you lose belly fat. You can even accelerate your fat loss by doing certain types of exercises. Unfortunately I cannot cover all this information in one post but you can find all this information in my e-book Blast Your Belly Fat.

Your articles are great. I agree with all you have said. I started my amazing journey in late September last year and am still going. I always excersize in a fasted state. Im 2hrs on the treadmill walking with 3-4min sprints every 8mins or so. I only eat 1 cucumber,1 avocado and a celery soup each day. I just made up my own diet and it worked for me. Ive lost 40kg. Just about to start weight training though so will have to change my diet now. I dont seem to have lost much muscle mass so far but this is the first week I have felt tired so Im thinking that could be a sign. I had been researching cosmetic surgeons for excess skin, but now I think I will see what I can achieve on my own first. Wish me luck. Poppy

Avocados are a double-whammy to belly fat. First, they’re packed with heart-healthy monounsaturated fats that dim your hunger switches; a study in Nutrition Journal found that participants who ate half a fresh avocado with lunch reported a 40 percent decreased desire to eat for hours afterwards. Second, unsaturated fats like those found in avocados seem to prevent the storage of belly fat.

When paired with a reduced-calorie diet, cardio helps you create a calorie deficit, meaning you eat fewer calories than you burn. Your body must then tap into fat stores for fuel, which helps you lose weight.

We all know that one of the first rules of losing weight is to ditch ‘fatty foods’ and switch to a ‘healthy diet’. Nutritionists believe that weight loss does not simply mean scrapping fatty foods, it requires you to bring about a balance by actually sneaking certain foods in your diet.Source:http://www.cavediet.net

The stubborn belly fat remains. I’d like flatten up my stomach for vanity reasons but I’d also like to lose at least 10-12lbs for performance reasons (lighter on the bike means faster speed!) What would you suggest I do based on the above information about myself? Thanks!

“how to lose belly fat in a week |how to lose belly fat pilates”

In a 2009 study published in Metabolic Syndrome and Related Disorders, older individuals who raised their heart rate to 75 percent or more of their maximum heart rate, a level considered high intensity, and burned 1,000 calories a week for 12 weeks lost notable amounts of visceral fat. Those who burned the same number of calories with low- or moderate-intensity did not experience the same reduction in belly fat.

For a basic version, get into the top of a push-up position and hold. Draw your belly in towards your spine to maintain a rigid back. Start with 20 to 30 seconds at a time. Work up to a minute or longer as you become stronger.

The best way to shrink fat cells overall is to lose weight. But make no mistake: Visceral fat is not easy to shed. Start by figuring out your current daily calorie intake. Then cut that number by one quarter. Researchers from Columbia University found that simply reducing daily calories (without adding exercise) can shrink fat cells by up to 18 percent, particularly those in subcutaneous fat. Health bonus? Fat shrinkage also improves the body’s ability to use insulin, thereby guarding against diabetes.

When you’re leptin-resistant, your body no longer hears its own signals to stop eating, burn fat, or pass up sugary foods. As a result, you feel hungry, crave sweets, and your body continues to store fat even though it already has more than enough. When your body routinely stores this excess as visceral fat, you increase your risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol, vascular disease, atherosclerosis (hardening of your arteries), and an increased thickness in the walls of your heart.

Hey Jeff, thanks for sharing your opinion. My first goal is to educate people, which is why I spend most of my time writing content like this article. That said, I do believe in the supplements we sell and want people who could benefit to know about them.

If you’re diet consists largely of bread, pasta, cereal, rice and other grain based foods, it is going to be challenging to lose weight. Don’t believe the old government endorsed food pyramid that promoted grains as the base of your diet. Most of your carbohydrates should be coming from vegetables for optimum weight loss. If you decide to keep the grain based carbohydrates in your diet, be sure to keep your portion sizes small.

Quick question RE HIIT cardio. Do you think there is any benefit or drawback to “mixing up” the type that you do. For example, I’ve pretty much exclusively been doing treadmill sprints (for whatever reason I find the movement on the recumbent bike very uncomfortable so tend to avoid it) but wondered if it might be worthwhile occasionally subbing in steep incline intervals, or even switch to the rowing machine from time to time.

If you’re like a high percentage of adults, including even many young adults, losing extra fat around your midsection is one of the biggest obstacles along your weight loss journey. You may have experienced periods in the past when you’ve watched the numbers on the scale fall, but still you didn’t see a corresponding loss in belly fat like you’d hope for. Or, maybe you’re the type who feels overwhelmed by all the available but conflicting dietary advice out there, and so you haven’t yet started to lose weight or tackle the belly fat problem even though you know you need to for your health.

Also, TDEE calculations in the book are broad guidelines and don’t fit perfectly into every situation, but are a close approximation. The MFL websites gets a little deeper, but numbers still have to be adjusted based on results because everyone’s case is different. Based on your experience and macro tracking, it looks like those numbers are too high and you need to cut below 1850 with maintenance at roughly 1850.

This is a common problem when you are trying to lose weight. When you are about to give up think why you started. Take a picture of you showing all your fat and look at the picture when you are thinking about giving up. Look at it and say ”I want to change this!” Find a body (on the internet) that you want to get one day. By looking at it, you will suddenly feel as if you really need to change your body. Believe you can do it.

Cool you’ve been cutting. Sorry to hear about it not being fat. The first few weeks will be a lot of water and glycogen, but you should be losing fat too. How are you tracking the fat loss? Check this out:

I’m ”skinny fat” at the moment as my arms and legs are skinny but my belly and thighs are fat. I’m doing weight-training for my whole body 4 times a week but I do not do cardio at all and I consume about 3,000+ calories a day, everyday.

Many get confused if they are thirsty, tired, or hungry, and end up nibbling sugary or fatty food. Always carry a water bottle, and make sure you keep sipping water throughout the day. One needs to drink six to eight glasses of water, though this depends on your weight and lifestyle. Calculate accordingly, and make sure you consume enough water.

Why it works: This move is more challenging than a traditional plank because you’re supporting your entire body weight on two points of contact instead of four. As a result, you must work your core harder to stay stabilized.

Studies on lean and obese twins and their mothers have confirmed that there is a common “core” of shared flora among families that may influence weight gain, including where the weight is stored (41).

However, if you think you’ll be successful “spot treating” your belly fat with crunches, think again, says Julie Buckley, a UK-based personal trainer and author of Ignite: 4 Weeks to a Leaner, Faster, and Hotter Body. “There are a few key exercises you can incorporate into your workout routine that are effective at burning fat from the belly and the rest of your body,” she says. Here, Buckley and other personal trainers share their favorite belly fat-blasting workouts that’ll help you whittle your middle—fast. (You can also fire up your metabolism and flatten your belly with the simple plan in Prevention’s new Walk Your Way to Better Health!)

The bottom line is if you’re a guy over 10% body fat or a girl over 20%, you’re going to have a fair amount of belly fat to lose if you want to have skin-tight abs. That look requires 7 to 8% body fat in men and 17 to 18% in women. There’s just no way around it.

Besides the healthy diet and exercises, these lifestyle changes can help you lot to reduce belly fat. Pick up a few good habits and get rid of the bad ones, and you will see that the fat will disappear faster than you think.

1) Can I take YOHIMBINE out of the routine and still achieve the same results? Is there other supplements I could consider to replace this? It’s rather hard to get your hands on this product if not in the U.S.

Feel free to use green beans, scrambled eggs made out of one whole ovum and two ovum whites and tomatoes for a breakfast. You incorporate the use of cod fillet or grilled chicken white meat as your munch. You can use fish or lean meat inside forms. Do not forget to provide five servings of vegatables and fruits. Do all that exercises from wandering to sit ups.

The problem with weight loss* is that the process is very slow. Reducing* belly fat takes a lot of time especially if you carry a lot of excess weight. A great way to have faster results is by using weight loss* supplements. Look for those that only contain natural ingredients since they are considerably safer. You need to research very thoroughly in order to find weight loss* supplements that are both safe and effective.

“how can reduce belly fat faster +can lose belly fat running”

Hi Mike! First of all, great articles! I am extra motivated because of all your clear tips and incredible results. Thank you for sharing with us. I have a question. 4 hours after having your light dinner or meal, you do your HIIT cardio session. After that, what are you having as post-cardio meal? Do you try not to eat till a couple of minutes passed or do you try not to have carbs after cardio to keep the insuline still in its base level and keep burning fat, or however what it really only matters is hitting your macros no matter with which nutrients but finishing the day with the caloric deficit of 20%? Thank you very much, I hope you have passed good holidays and keep on going with this useful page!

It’s true that your immune system won’t be quite as resilient when you’re in a calorie deficit. However, you can mitigate the damage by making sure the vast majority of your calories are coming from nutrient-dense foods, taking a multivitamin, reducing stress where possible, etc. If you ALWAYS get sick when you cut, you might be lowering calories too much, exercising too much, or not sleeping enough. Check this out:

In addition to the guidelines I mentioned above, Authority Nutrition lists3 several more effective strategies that can help you shed unwanted abdominal fat. Here are five of the recommendations that I highly agree with.

I am 25 year old, 5’3 weigh 132 and I initially started with a goal to lose body fat. I was working out 3-4 times a week and I’m actually pretty fit, most of my muscle was on my legs … but once I started my calorie deficit diet 20-25% (eating about 1460 calories) consuming 1gram per body weight of protein, cardio (stairmaster) of 30 min x 5 days, and weightlifting 5 days a week 1-2hrs per day by the fourth week I had lost most of my leg and glute muscle… all I wanted was to lose body fat, what did I do wrong in the process? Too much cardio ? Or very low Calorie deficit?

I am a relatively small female (118 lbs, ~22%) and every time I use a TDEE calculator with my appropriate activity level it gives me such a low calorie amount (1710kcal/day) for my current weight. It amounts to ~300 kcal/day lower than what I currently eat to maintain. If I take a moderately aggressive deficit, as you suggest above, I would be starving! I’ve seen suggestions for 10-12 kcal/lb (1180-1460 kcal/day) or weight loss and there is no way I could function let alone train on that low level. Even 20% deficit on my current intake (1850-2000) would leave me starving! BUT, I really would like to lean out!! Suggestions?

Thanks for the article! Great read, as usual 🙂 what are your thoughts on Effedra? It’s been really popular in my gym as of late. I’m kind of skeptical. Does it work as good as people say? Would it interfere with Forge?

Start your meal, especially your largest meal, with seasoned vegetables, be it vegetable soup or the vegetables on your entrée plate. And remember that vegetables should always comprise at least half of your plate and be a mix of starchy (like potatoes) and nonstarchy ones (your leafy greens, broccoli, etc.).

I then went on a heavy lifting program 5 days with one cardio day to try and build some muscle mass while eating at a surplus for 6 months and probably got up to 19-20% but added a half decent amount of muscle (I had very little before as a result of the long weight loss).

All participants exercised on their regular schedule and followed a high-protein diet. One group of the athletes maintained a ~12% calorie deficit, eating about 300 calories less than they burned each day, and another group maintained a ~24% deficit, eating about 750 fewer calories than they burned.

Hi Mike! You’ve said before that you can lose fat without cardio (albeit more slowly), although you will need cardio to get single digit lean. I was just curious why that is? Wouldn’t you theoretically keep losing fat if you maintain a deficit and are diligent with your weight training? Is the reason because eventually your metabolism would slow down too much? And cardio helps prevent that?

Thanks for the reply. And yup, just using the macro/cal targets you recommended in a past email. I try to track as accurately as I can (weigh in grams, use appropriate variations- frozen chicken grams vs. cooked, etc). Maybe I just haven’t given it long enough. I’ve lost about 40 lbs so far and all that remains is this stubborn belly fat. It’s been 2 weeks, so hopefully in another 2 I’ll start to notice a change. Thanks again!

To do that and lose fat (not water weight), you’d have to cut about 1,600 calories out of your diet every day! You could do that by eating less and increasing your exercise, but that’s a lot to ask of anyone.

The lower abs fat is very stubborn and is the last place for the body to lose fats. Cardio or HIIT are fine if one can regularly follow the routine. But if you’re looking for a quick and easy solution then i recommend using blue fat freeze system. It’s a high end UBL backed neoprene wrap that you put over the fatty part of the body which freezes the fat under the skin with the help of dual action gel packs.

The reality is you could follow every “thin belly” rule mainstream “gurus” prescribe…perform every “belly flattening” exercise on the Internet…eliminate every possible “hormone clogging” food…bid every form of sugar a sad farewell…and subject yourself to the doldrums of low-carb living…

Sit-ups can help, mainly with building muscle and toning the area – but you will still need to do some cardio and eat a healthy diet to see significant fat loss. As Step 1 says, you can’t really lose fat only by targeting a specific area – you have to make a comprehensive lifestyle effort.

Yet studies over the past three or so decades consistently show how those with BMIs closer to but not exceeding 30 live longer than those at 24 and lower. The lower the BMI, the earlier comes the grim one.

Hi Michael! I have been following all your tips. However, since a week ago I have a lower back pain in the right side, but nothing muscular, it’s internal pain. I don’t know if its maybe kidney problem so I’ll see the doctor, but I also want to ask you. Do you know if the quantity in protein can produce kidney problems? And the caffeine quantity per day? I’m trying to shred and I’ve been eating 1,5gr prot/lb of lean body mass. Now I’ve reduced it to 1,15gr/lb of lean mass to see what happens. Will that reduction in protein won’t allow me to obtain the same progress I’ve been having? How much minimal protein quantity can we reach to continue obtaining good results in fitness and BB? Maybe 1gr/lb lean mass or 0,8gr/lb?? Thank you Michael.

2. Ab Plank is a great exercise to really challenge your entire core and build up your strength and endurance. The Plank works the lower abdomens, the oblique muscles and your lower back. It takes focus and concentration plus some upper body strength. Start with holding the plank position for 30- 40 seconds and build your way up. You will be amazed at how strong your cores will get by doing this exercise regularly.

Blueberries are also proven to diminish belly fat, so make a point to throw them in your salads and smoothies. Pineapple is another belly-fat-fighting food since it contains an enzyme that helps ease digestion and banish bloat, making your belly look and feel flatter. High-fiber foods like pears, berries, veggies, beans, and whole grains have the same effect. Plus, they keep you feeling full longer, just like healthy fats, helping you consume fewer daily calories and reduce your overall body fat.

Mike, thanks for the tips…I’ve lost a considerable amount of weight over the past 8 weeks. My fat loss has been dispersed fairly well over my body since the beginning, but now I am plateauing on belly fat loss. Throughout the process I’ve used (and been happy with) Garcinia and Forskolin as supplements. Do you have any opinion on the use of these products? I am going to try your products to see if I can break through my plateau.

Another downside to fasted exercise is lackluster workouts. Many people find they have less energy and focus when training in a fasted state and thus aren’t able maintain the level of physical and mental intensity they’re used to.

I have 25% of fat and going gym at night after work. Do whey protein helps me to cut my belly fat or should i take fat burner?? If yes at what time cause i go to gym at night and go for work in the morning

4) I notice you mentioned to take 2 GTE pills (800mg / 320 Catechins) with lunch IF not taking PHOENIX. Does that mean if I’m taking PHOENIX, I do not need to take any other supplements with Lunch? I would like to stick with 2 full meals a day with maybe 1 light snack in between (depending if I feel fatigue or not) – so for my routine, it will be 1 post-workout meal in the morning, 3 – 4 hours later eat a VERY light snack (around afternoon time if needed and if not, will skip to get to fasted state earlier and have my 2nd round of supplements / cardio training). I’m currently following 1500 calories / day, 60pro, 20carb, 20fat and main goal is to lower Body Fat % / lose belly fat. I’m around 5″6, 175lbs, Male and about 25 – 30% body fat.

There are many natural ways to reduce fat. Garlic, onion, ginger, cayenne pepper, cabbage, tomato, and spices like cinnamon and mustard are some of the fat reducing foods. Consuming a few cloves of raw garlic and a one-inch piece of ginger every morning is good for fat metabolism.

Fantastic article! I was just wondering if you had any alternatives to the caffeine intake (including the green tea extract). I rarely drink coffee and I don’t ingest it for personal reasons. Thanks! 🙂

Tight deadlines, bills, your kids—whatever your source of stress, having too much of it may make it harder for you to drop unwanted pounds, especially from your middle. And it’s not just because you tend to reach for high-fat, high-calorie fare when you’re stressed, though that’s part of it. It’s also due to the stress hormone cortisol, which may increase the amount of fat your body clings to and enlarge your fat cells. Higher levels of cortisol have been linked to more visceral fat.

I’ve lost over 110 pounds over 2 years but my belly still holds a lot of fat and when I measure it and then put in a body fat percentage calculator, it says I have 27% BF which is totally demoralizing as I’ve worked at it for a long time now. It feels like I’ve forever been in a caloric deficit but I’m not seeing any fat coming from my mid-section. I’m currently changing it up at the moment by drastically cutting sugar out of my diet and taking in around 100g of carbohydrates a day, 5 days a week and having 2 high carb days as I’ve heard it’s good to shock your metabolism to carb cycle. My protein intake daily is 140-180g and my fat is between 50g-95g.

Hello Mike 2?’s Is there any other way to get caffeine intake while taking your fat burner being I don’t drink coffee nor take caffeine pills or use preworkout before exercising also do you and your team have plans to build transformation bundles that include home based gyms no machine’s just the old fashion way for those who can’t afford gym memberships being in a financial bind at the present time Thanks

MIke – I like and follow your approaches to working out – and also the messaging around supplements and what’s needed (and what’s not). I’m just a little surprised to see this article pitching me on three supplements to buy, when in the past your book(s) have stated that most supplements are needed.

“how to lose fat on calves _lose belly fat nutrition plan”

Great article! I am very, very frustrated with my belly fat. I’m a 22-year-old female, and I started heavy lifting a year ago at 5’11” and 160 pounds. I used to be a strict cardio person- and I still do a lot of cardio (a few months ago I ran a half-marathon). However, in the past few weeks I’ve started doing more intense interval workouts in an attempt to lose this fat. With the lifting, the intervals, and a relatively healthy diet, I still have a good amount of pinchable fat on my stomach that makes me forget all the progress I’ve made in my legs and arms from lifting. I am exactly the same weight I was a year ago.

For HIIT cardio, warm up for five to 10 minutes, and then structure your workout so you go hard for 30 seconds to four minutes at a time and recover for an equal or slightly longer period of time. For example, sprint for 1 minute, then walk for one minute 10 times, for a total of 20 minutes. Cool down at an easy pace for three to five minutes to complete a session.

No, you would not be fasted in that case. Fasted training is when your insulin levels are at baseline, and that meal will raise your insulin, despite the lack of carbs. Being in a fasted state usually translates to about 5 or 6 hours since your last meal.

Obviously, you want to keep your calories in a healthy range and avoid meals that are high in saturated fat. But research has also shown that eating more of certain foods can help you burn excess visceral fat and pave the way to a smaller middle.

Kneel on a mat on all fours with your hands directly under your shoulders. Stretch your legs back one at a time to come into plank position (the “up” part of a push-up); engage your ab muscles. Your body should be long and straight; don’t let your hips sag or lift your butt too high. Imagine there’s a seat belt tightening around your waist, drawing your lower-ab muscles inward.

How would you like to blast off belly fat by eating spaghetti for breakfast? You can! As a general rule of thumb, eat carb-heavy meals early in the day so they get burned off rather than stored as belly fat. At dinnertime, do the opposite: Focus on eating lighter, mostly protein-based meals.

Regularly training all the major muscles with resistance machines stimulates fat-burning hormones and helps you develop a greater proportion of lean tissue. Lean tissue burns more calories at rest and contributes to a stronger burning metabolism — meaning it’s easier to lose weight in your middle and elsewhere.

Eat only moderate amounts of saturated fats. There has been a lot of back and forth research over whether or not saturated fats are unhealthy. Since fats in general are higher in calories are you’re trying to reduce weight and body fat, limit these types of fats. They are found in animal products like butter, full fat cheese, red meat and lard.[19]

The type of fat that is responsible for the “ beer belly” shape is called visceral fat. Visceral fat (the fat surrounding your vital organs) is more metabolically active than subcutaneous fat (the fat just under your skin) so it tends to burn off quicker.

Thanks! Any suggestion on what product ? Diet excercise? Again I’m really into endurance sports. Ultra marathons and Adventure racing I just can’t believe I still have fat when I burn so many calories! Any feedback will be greatly appreciated

Heat 1 1/2 tsp peanut oil in skillet over medium-high heat. Add 4 oz extra-firm tofu cubes and 1 small minced serrano pepper; stir-fry till tofu is browned. Add 2 Tbsp pad thai sauce, 3/4 cup each cubed zucchini and sliced red bell pepper, and 1 minced scallion; stir-fry until veggies are al dente. Stir in 1/4 cup fresh basil. Serve over 1/2 cup brown rice; top with 2 tsp chopped peanuts.

Besides the healthy diet and exercises, these lifestyle changes can help you lot to reduce belly fat. Pick up a few good habits and get rid of the bad ones, and you will see that the fat will disappear faster than you think.

High-intensity interval training combines short, high-intensity bursts of exercise, with slow, recovery phases repeated throughout one short 15–20 minute session. It’s done at 85–100 percent of one’s maximum heart rate rather than 50–70 percent in moderate endurance activity.

Most people don’t realize that loads of cardio/aerobic exercise can actually wear down our joints, increase our stress hormones (including cortisol) and contribute to fatigue or overeating. A better option is to alternate the types and intensities of your workouts, doing some at a harder pace but for shorter duration (like with the Tabata protocol) and others for strength or cardiovascular benefits.

Water retention induces a puffed belly. And as salt is something which is attracted to water, it contributes in gaining extra fat. To avoid this unnecessary fat, switch to salt-free seasonings like cayenne pepper and notice the difference on your own.

You are missing the essence of the article. People who are overweight can lose 20 lbs, and this is an example to encourage these people that this target is achievable, as this article is mainly aimed for overweight people. Of course if you only need to lose few pounds then you need to apply your logic and discretion not to become anorexic.

Hi , I’m a fourteen year old girl and honestly I get motivated sometimes but then I just don’t care anymore because well my parents including my sisters tell me that I’m still young , and I know that I still am but I’m not following strict diets I’m just eating healthy food “sometimes” . You’ll find lean, satiating protein in every single bite you take on Zero Belly Diet. The muscle-building macronutrient is fundamental to the plan, and eggs happen to be one of the easiest and most versatile delivery systems in the universe. Not only that, they’re also the number-one dietary source of a nutrient called choline. Choline, which is found also in lean meats, seafood and collard greens, attacks the gene mechanism that triggers your body to store fat around your liver. One Zero Belly Diet recipe—a breakfast hash with sweet potatoes and fresh farm eggs—became test panelist Morgan Minor’s go-to breakfast, and after just 3 weeks on the program, the female firefighter lost 11 pounds and 4 inches from her waist! The more eggs you eat, the less egg-shaped you get.

I know it is difficult to answer “exact science” questions about my body, but how long does it take you to enter a fasted state after a meal? Scenario: my gym doesn’t open until 05:30 and I work from 6am-2pm, so I work out after work. Id rather not fast for 10+ hrs, so assuming moderate size meals…when should you stop eating to train fasted?

Cutting back on your carbohydrate intake is a very quick way to see the results of fat loss. I know are now thinking, surely a low fat diet must be better for banishing the bulge, right? You will be surprised.

Hey Mike, great post. I am going to give you routine a try. I want to know what you thought about the supplement C3G( Cyanidin 3-Glucoside). It was shown in Dr. Oz as a great supplement to help you stop your body from storing anymore fat. I see a couple of supplement commanies starting to use it calling it PROC3G, but I don know if the studies are legit since it has only been verified through rats.

A little garlic in your meals could mean a lot less weight around your middle. Losing belly fat can be confusing. And with so many different weight loss fitness plans and diets, sometimes it can be tough to tell the facts from fiction. As you move into a healthy lifestyle with proper nutrition and exercise, keep an eye out for these top 10 myths of losing belly fat.

A. Find a stretch of floor that allows you to go forward 10 to 20 yards, and grab anything that will slide over the surface with minimal friction. Dinner plates or plastic bags work on a carpeted floor, while towels work on wood or tile.

When your body is low on calcium, it produces a hormone that signals the body to store visceral fat. Meeting your recommended daily calcium needs (that’s 1,000 milligrams for adults) can help reduce levels of this hormone. And a recent study published in Obesity Research found that calcium from dairy has a stronger effect than calcium from other sources. I recommend eating low-fat Greek yogurt as a daily snack (just six ounces contain about 20 percent of your recommended dietary allowance for calcium), though any low-fat dairy will do.

You might have heard the term ‘middle-age spread’. This means, as women progress towards their middle years, the ratio of body fat increases compared to the body weight. During menopause, when the levels of estrogen go down, and the amount of androgens or male hormones increase, then there is an increased risk of fat accumulation in the waist. Hormones actually regulate the fat concentration in the body, and your figure depends entirely on it!

Another reason to walk is that is saves money. I live in a big city and cut driving. I no longer have to pay $100/month for gas. $25/month for car insurance (from Insurance Panda). $50 in tolls ($2 each way).
